This is our page on our ongoing alternate Victorian Science Fiction world(s) and campaign from (1888 to 1920). You will also find various other information and inspiration on all things VSF, such as WOTWs, Dino Hunting, Steam Powered Whatever and in general, Victorian era mayhem. My Thanks Don M
The Martians have invaded, time to return the favor!
Detriments you call us? Detriments? Well I want to remind you that it was detriments like us that built this bloody Empire AND the Izzat of the bloody Raj!
I oft times tell Ootah about Englishmens. How they give names to dogs and take off hats to womans, and march into battle, left - right, left -right with rifles on their shoulders.
As you know gentlemen, I've acquired a fine paddle wheeled river steamer. What she requires now is a name worthy of her. I'd like to hear your suggestions!
In keeping it classical: HMS Hermes: Hermes, the herald of the Olympian gods, is son of Zeus and the nymph Maia, daughter of Atlas and one of the Pleiades. Hermes is also the god of shepherds, land travel, merchants, weights and measures, oratory, literature, athletics and thieves, and known for his cunning and shrewdness. He was also a minor patron of poetry. He was worshiped throughout Greece especially in Arcadia.
CHARYBDIS and SCYLLA were both sea monsters of greek mythology who promised death to those who strayed too near. Both names were used historically by the Royal Navy too. Of course HMS White Wine Sauce sounds pretty good too!
