And Now For Something Completely Different

Excerpt from the journal of Col William Somersby-Smyth
Royal Marines, found in the destroyed British embassy
Syris Major.
**********************************************
Our armies were at long last victorious in driving back
the threat from evil the Cephalods. We'd gone on to
pacify allot of the Imperial Martian cities and have
made trade deals with most of the others. It looked
as if we were at the dawn of a new Raj. Then one
dark night reports reached us of a powerful new enemy.
Incredibly they arrived in a planet that came moving on
it's own through out system and taking up its own orbit
in-between Earth and Mars! Then fantastic weapons
even by the standards we have come to know attacked
all in their path. Our Æther ships fought valiantly
against the small but incredibly swift and powerful craft
of this new enemy. Hordes of enemy ground troops
of inconceivable description some that could even
fly, attacked our forces, and drove all before them.
There is still hope with th.........................pages burned
beyond recognition

Or it might have been
entitled, 'How to spread
the use of your Sci-fi
collection'. I was looking
over mine last night and
in particular my Laserburn
Redemptionist and other
Forces. I had a wild thought,
they looked very much like
the armies of 'Ming the
Merciless' and with others
in my collection I can easily
field the rest of the armies
of Mongo. Having seen the
serial many times the technology
of Mongo although better than
VSF earth would not be overwhelming, and would make
for an interesting new facet in
our VSF campaign universe........

Thanks for showing us
all what goes on inside
the head of a mad man!

(That out of the way,
and I hate to say it)

It's not a bad idea!

It would be kinda cool...)

And the Aeronef possibilities
like Rocket Ajax Vs Zeppelin!

Yup this will get out of
control...here we go!

This is true, on both counts!

Wild idea! It's just crazy enough to work...)So if the Cephalod threat
has passed, I take it this happens
towards the end of our period?

It's a campaign tool for when
you take over Mars...)So it
would be at the end more or less.

That idea is so cracked its brilliant! A VSF-Pulp SciFi crossover. Perhaps the giant Robot GORT could be dispatched to aid the fragile Earthlings?
"Klaatu verda necto!"

Question, the shotgun is no
problem but,do we have a steam
powered chainsaw? ;-P

That's the secret to my success, inspiration sprinkled liberally
with insanity ;-) I think GORT would give us Earthlings too
much of an edge! I've always
wanted to do something with
Mongo, it's just they were not powerful enough to face even current earth technology! But
in a VSF setting it's about right...)

Check with Brass Goggles, I

Pood point! We must ensure we fully brief Sir Ash before he speks them then!

So its a similar recipe to a Martini then? Shaken but not stirred!

I love it!!! Watch out for the Ming Dynasty. Move over Ceplapods! Very cool to combine retro sci fi with Victorian Sci Fi.
