Kaiser's Scientific Field Trip

His Highness the Kaiser has heard that there are many interesting
scientific discoveries to be made on the Island of Kookanyika. With
the Kaiser's well known love and interest in both archeology and
zoology it is his pleasure to send a well financed and equipped
expedition to the large bay east of the Italian colony . There will
also be several lesser landings to this scientific expedition to further
facilitate the cataloging of discoveries......

So how many Maxims does it
take to gather fossils? ;-)

I think that would depend on how big they were...)

Ok I get the Maxim/fossil ratio,
but what are you digging up with
the howitzers? ;-)

Gentlemen, the Kaiser's
government wishes to assure
all concerned that this is
a purely scientific expedition.
The ships are mearly there to
carry supplies, and the
zeppelins are there for
observation of the local
flora and fauna, and for easy
mapping.The large vehicle is
not a landship, it's merely
the very latest in German engineering, a mobile well
equipped laboratory.

In that case, the airship that looks distinctly like a Battlecruiser (and attendant escorts) is simply an aerial Search and Rescue craft ensuring the safety of the Kaiser's expedition!
