French Troops In Indochina

The French colonial territory known as the Indochinese
Union (commonly called French Indochina) existed from
1887 to 1945. At its largest, the union comprised the
present-day countries of Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.
Shown here, French soldiers pose with local residents at a
military post in French Indochina in the early 1900s.
