  2. I remember reading a contemporary German soldier's comments about the real advantage the dirty green/brown uniform was. He went on to comment that "we'll still win". Oh well can't be right about everything I guess...)

  3. Perhaps the grey/green may have had some slight military advantage in the field, but did it attract the ladies at Balls and functions?

    Reminds me of a British comedian from the 70s describing the reason the American colonies won their independence. It was because the English uniforms were gorgeous
    "when your dressed like that you don't want fight" he said "You should be dancing"...)
